Cassandra
Region
Cassandra is the most popular and populated
of the three peninsulas of Halkidiki.
It offers many hotels, entertainment, public
services and an incredible number of wonderful
long white sand beaches and lovely bays.
The most famous ones are the Dionisiou
Beach,
2, 5 kilometres from Nea
Moudania,
which is a calm and long beach with clean
waters and white sand, the attractive, enormous
beach at Nea
Flogita
located near the village of Nea Moudania which
have a long, paradisiacal sandy beach.
Marvellous beaches surrounded by lush greenery
can be found at Sani,
followed by the region of Nea
Phokea
which is located along a really extended pure
sandy beach.
The golden beach at Aphytos
is 5 kilometres south of Nea Phokea and is
a pure marvel.
The cosmopolitan Kallithea
also offers amazing beaches, very long and
lined with pine trees, surrounded by the deep
blue waters of the Gulf of Cassandra.
The beach lying east of Kryopigi
is a precious jewel with crystal-clear waters,
thick white and luxuriant pine trees.
South of this amazing site is the village
of Polychrono
which has vast sandy beaches with amazingly
clean waters.

Hanioti and Pefkohori
are surrounded by long sandy beaches and verdant
vegetation and pine forests.
In Agia Paraskevi, near Paliouri,
are located the Loutra (spas), well known
for their medicinal waters and curative faculties,
followed by the beautiful beaches of Agios
Nikolaos and Phaneromeni.
The wide pine-clad, silvery-gold beach of
Posidi is located west of
Kalandra, south of Nea Skione and is a real
paradise.
North of Kalandra are the wonderful beaches
of Fourka and the golden
sandy beach of Siviris, washed
by the limpid waters of the Thermaic Gulf.
Sithonia Region
Sithonia is quitter
than Cassandra and more mountainous, still
relatively untouched by the touristy rush,
full of amazing beaches, some deserted, some
more touristy; the peninsula forms a wonderful
image, combining the amazing blue of the sea
with the profound green of its luxurious vegetation. |

Like
its sister, Sithonia offers a wide range of touristy
facilities and numerous paradisiacal endless beaches,
shady bays, golden sands and small coves hidden
between rocks.
Those are some of the marvels that will charm even
the most difficult visitors.
On the main road running
around the western shores, washed by the clear waters
of the Toronaean Gulf, many beaches are following
one another, with pure golden sand, crystal-clear
turquoise waters and shadowed by beautiful pine-trees;
some of them are Agios
Ioannis,
Kalogria,
Spathies
and the amazing coves of Elia.
The settlement of Neos
Marmaras
offers many golden beaches lined by eucalyptus trees.
In the southern end of Sithonia is Toroni,
surrounded by an incredible long golden beach with
limpid waters.

The picturesque village of Porto
Koufo
has the largest and safest natural harbour as well
as fine beaches washed by serene waters.
Right after this village and before reaching the
village of Sykia, is Kalamitsi
which has three amazing golden beaches with emerald
waters.
2, 5 kilometres east of Sykia is the endless beach
of the bay
of Sykia
with golden sand and limpid blue waters.
Ten kilometres northeast of Sykia is the little
village of Sarti, which is surrounded by amazing
beaches, maybe the most spectacular of the peninsula:
the pine-clad golden beach of Sarti,
the endless golden sandy beach of Platanitsi,
an amazing beach located on the road leading from
Sarti to Platanitsi with golden granite rocks shaped
like if they had been carved by a sculptor.
The superb beach of Armenistis
with turquoise waters and dense pine-trees, the
crystal-clear waters of the astonishing rocky beach
at Kavourotrypes,
the lovely beach of Ahlada
and the paradisiacal bay of Akti
Zographou.
The settlement of Vourvourou also offers astonishing
places, combining olive and pine trees, dreamy coves
and the superb beaches on the small islands opposite
Vourvourou:
Livari,
Xifara,
Karidi
and Fava.
Other beautiful golden beaches can be found in the
eastern
coast
of Halkidiki, washed by the limpid waters of the
Strymonic Gulf
