Article Submission Guidelines

Here are our simple guidelines. Please review them carefully and be sure to read our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and our Anti-Spam Policy before submitting your articles.

Your article should meet the following requirements:

  • Your article can be written in various language for publication. You may select the language and readers have possibility to search according to the wished language.

  • Your article should be 400 - 2,000 words in length.

  • Your article title can be up to 255 characters long.

  • Your article summary may be up to 8000 characters long. That's roughly 2500 words.

  • Your article keyword list cannot exceed 255 charaters.

  • You get 600 characters for your ressources box for self-promotion. This includes your biography, your URL and any email address you want to include.

  • Your member profile personal data (name/country/etc..), can be 1,500 characters (around 225 words) long.

  • Articles cannot be an advertisement for you or your business. They must contain valuable content that web users would want to use on their web sites, in their e-zines or blogs.

  • Your article should be of interest to the general public or individuals interested in specific topics covered.


How to use the worldiscoveries.com articles editor

The articles editoris a full text editor where you can principally a textual article. Photos, images or videos are added separately by browsing your files and submiting these files. However Editor has the ability to accept html format consequently you may add images in your text in html form so long the images are on another website and the url is defined in the image tag. Same ia valid for video clips and music files. In this case videos and audio files should be of your own copyright or have the permission of the authors to upload them on worldiscoveries.com. Only YouTube.com is an exception. You may post an html link playing a video clip posted on youtube.com

How can you insert html tags in your text to add video, images or audio files?
There are several possibilities to play multimedia files on worldiscoveries:

  1. Between the text of your article itself. You may add html tags (see here below examples to copy and paste in the articles editor) which allow to show images (images additional than what worldiscoveries allows you to post on your article/story.), or play video movies and audio files.
  2. As a link called RELATED WEBSITE.This is a field at the article input data to fill in with a link related to your article. This link can be a an URL address of a page on another server, an image, an audio file or a video file. These can be images additional than what worldiscoveries allows you to post on your article/story.

Adding images in your article text
The html tags posted copied in the editor have the following form. Just copy this code and paste it in the editor at the place where you want to post the image.

Replace IMAGEFILENAME_LARGE.EXT and IMAGEFILENAME_SMALL.EXT with the real filename of the image you wish to display. LARGE is the large image and SMALL is the small image max: 70x70 pixels When visitors will click on the image it will open in image full size in a new window.

Adding MS video player movies inside your article text itself:
- To add video files and play video within your article/story you need to copy and paste the following code:

Paste this code at the place of the text of the editor where you want to let appear the MS video player. Replace VIDEOFILENAME.EXT with the real filname of the video file you wish to play. Please leave 320x240 size of player intact. The video format must be WMV (Windows media player) or AVI. Website extension can be any (com, net, etc..). AutoStart=1 the video will start playing immediately. AutoStart=0 the visitor needs to click on the PLAY icon to play the clip. The video will start playing at the posistion where the code is placed.
- Another possibility is to indirectly address the video file on another website. Then copy the code here below:


- Finally to fill in the /related websites / field of the editor a link which will run the page where your video file is playing.

1. http://http://www.websitename.ext/flilename.html (or any other program which runs a video file)
2. http://http://www.websitename.ext/flilename.swf (to play directly on a new window a flash file)


Adding Flash video in your article text
- To add flash video files and play video on your article/story you need to add the following code:

Copy this code in the place of the text at the editor where you want to let appear the flash video player. Users must have already a flash player installed on their computer. Replace VIDEOFILENAME.SWF with the real filename of the video file you wish to play. Please leave 320x240 size of player intact. The video format must be SWF. Website extension can be any (com, net, etc..). The video will start playing at the posistion where the code is placed.

- To play a video within your article text is to copy the code here below and paste it in your text in the editor where you wish to show the movie.

When the visitor will click on the link SOME DESCRIPTION the movie will be shown in a new window.
Remove target= if you wish to play the video within your article.
You may replace the text SOME DESCRIPTION with another text of your choIce.

- Finaly another possibility is to paste in the /related websites / field of the articles editor the following code which will run the page where your video file is and will play the video at a new window.

to play directly on a new window a flash file where filaname.swf is the name of your flash file.


Adding Audio files in your article text
- To add audio files and play video on your article/story you need to add the following code in the Edditor:

Copy this code in the place of the text at the editor where you want to let appear the audio player. Users must have already a audio installed on their computer. Replace AUDIOFILENAME.EXT with the real filename of the audio file you wish to play. Please leave 200x2000 size of player intact. The audio format must be WAV or MP3. Website extensions can be any (com, net, etc..).
- Another possibility is to post in the /related websites / field of the articles editor which will run the page where your audio file is playing.

i.e. http://www.websitename.ext/flilename.html (or any other program which runs an audio file)
- Another possibility is to post in the /related websites / field of the articles editor which will run the page where your audio file is playing.

i.e. http://www.websitename.ext/flilename.mp3 (or filename.wav format)


Adding Related Articles or References to your Publications and Article
- As usual at the end of scientific articles you may wish to add references and related articles to your article with links linking to those external articles. This you can do adding the following colde uder your reference:

Copy this code in the place of the text at the editor where you want to let appear the reference. Replace WEBSITENAME.EXT with the real filename of the website name and EXT with any realextension (i.e. com, net, etc..). Replace referfilename.ext with the real filename of the document you are pointing and EXT with the real extension (i.e. hjtml, php, etc..).
- You may wish to attach an image at the reference link.

Copy this code and place it at the place where you wish to post the reference. file) Replace IMAGENAME.EXT with the real name of the image where EXT can be only JPG or GIF format.

AVI, MPEG, WMV(MS windows player)and Real Player format.
MPEG files are larger in size than AVI but WMV are the smallest from all.

Attention!!
-Video and audio files are permitted and accepted only if the source is a not-copyright (freeware or YouTube or other similar share video websites). Video files which do not meet this condition will be immediately deleted. -When you have to edit your article pay attention at the fact that the editable text is already in html format and any modification of the html tags will cause your article to be displayed wrongly. You have to change only your text leaving the tags intact.
